Nickville Global Wellness Initiative, Inc.
Mr. Ebere Onyewu, founder and director of the non-profit, Nickville Global Wellness Initiative, Inc. participated in a medical mission in December of 2003 which took place in Imo State, Nigeria. He played a major role and was extensively involved as a local healthcare representative who was responsible for all pre-mission exercise.
The original team consisted of four physicians and a public health administrator, who acted as the team leader. The medical mission then grew to encompass a multi-disciplinary group of highly trained physicians and healthcare providers from renowned U.S. medical institutions. This team successfully and safely delivered cutting edge medical care to the well deserving citizens of Nigeria, free of charge.
As a healthcare initiative, our program serves various communities by providing much needed healthcare opportunities, makes us not only proud, but grateful that the reputation of this initiative has spread beyond Africa and has led further into surrounding communities across the globe enabling traveling with the same goal of healthcare accessibility to the underserved in other countries.

- Pediatrics
- Eye Care
- Emergency Medicine
- HIV/AIDS Education
- Emergency Medical Training (CPR)
The focus of Nickville Global Wellness Initiative, Inc. non-profit is, the delivery of comprehensive medical care, whilst providing continuity of care by collaboration with local physicians, and healthcare providers in various disciplines and to maintain repeat medical mission visits.
As a New York State registered non-profit, Nickville Global Wellness Initiative, Inc. takes great pride in our ability to effectively educate our medical counterparts and students about new, and innovative approaches to healthcare outlook on the continent of Africa as well as impact the lives of so many with a passionate and dedicated involvement as we strive to make major improvements in the quality of life of the citizens.
TARGET POPULATION:
- Rural and suburban pregnant women
- Children and young adults with chronic diseases like Cancer
- Patients who are being held back in hospitals against their will because they cannot afford to pay their bills
- The rural and suburban senior citizens who cannot access healthcare because of financial difficulties
Nickville Global Wellness Initiative, Inc. works closely with other healthcare partner organizations, and related NGOs in identifying risk populations and communities in dire need of healthcare and preventive services, and in turn, can also make referrals to our non-profit organization who will greatly benefit from the healthcare services we offer.
